Hashbean420
Filed under PotFeb 17By Hashbean’s own admission “he’s what you might call a stoner”. Me and 8,990 other people subscribe to his channel on YouTube to watch him inhale massive bong hits.
Here’s his YouTube stats:

Channel Views: 476,820
Hashbean420 is from Denmark and calls himself, simply, HB. His accent and characteristics remind me of a good friend from Montreal, so I’ve enjoyed watching his videos and occasionally get a kick from chatting in his online chat room called CannabisChat.net.
HB has been experiencing some compliance issues from YouTube related to his video production, so he’s had to remove a few videos and expresses concerns that he may be totally banished but can’t understand the nature of his violation.
This is nearly a record amount of subscribers in the marijuana category but what’s more amazing is that he uploaded a new video 14 hours ago and it’s had almost 2,500 viewers already, I predict that it’ll get 10,000 viewers in it’s first 24 hours because California is just getting dark now and this video will go viral. -
Spannabis 2009

The Greatest Cannabis Fair in the WorldAnd so for a few days Barcelona will become the Cannabis Capital of the world thanks to the 6th annual celebration of Spannabis, from the 27th of Febuary to the 1st of March 2009.
Cornellá’s convention center will once again host what has become the world’s largest fair in the hemp sector. With a little over 8,000 m2 and over 150 exhibitioners, you can see and try a wide range of products, ranging from industrial hemp to materials for cultivating, various paraphernalia and of course the world’s best known seed banks. Also present will be associations and various professionals of the cannabis world, making Spannabis an excellent place to meet people and network.
Every year Spannabis takes on a different cause and this time they have chosen to focus on the Therapeutic Qualities of Cannabis. As a result, they have brought in well-established scientists, medical doctors and cannabiologists (those dedicated to the study of cannabis) to hold conferences on the subject.

Drug War Correspondent
Filed under PeopleFeb 13As an observer of all things related to marijuana I monitor the news and blogs with Google Alerts and was pleased to read about the former President of Brazil calling for an end to the prohibition of marijuana. Source: Washington Post
BUENOS AIRES– A group of former Latin American presidents on Wednesday described U.S. drug policies as a failure and called for debate on making marijuana legal while treating drug use more as a public health problem than as a crime.
Former Brazilian president Fernando Henrique Cardoso, former Colombian president César Gaviria and former Mexican president Ernesto Zedillo presided over the Latin American Commission on Drugs and Democracy, which also released a report in Buenos Aires about the need to find alternatives to eradication, interdiction and penalizing drug use.I’m a big fan of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, having witnessed how his great ideas and hard work helped to improve life here in Brazil, for all of it’s people. Also, I’m a fan of Pete Guither the founder and author of “DrugWarRant.com” which is by far the best independent source of information regarding the War on Drugs, he’s like an embedded journalist and somehow manages to pick-up and re-publish marijuana law reform news before anyone else does. That’s why he was chosen by NORML and High Times as a Freedom Fighter, in the February, 2009 issue of HIgh Times.
Pete’s website is hosted on Blogs.Salon.com, it’s difficult to tell exactly how many visitors he hosts daily but judging by the Google Page Rank of 6/10 it’s safe to assume that several thousand, if not tens of thousands of people per day visit the Drug War Rant, where by the way, you’ll find a great section on how and where you can get involved in fighting the injustice of the War on Drugs. -

Poker Players Alliance
The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) is a non-profit membership organization comprised of online and offline poker players. The PPA membership consists of enthusiasts from around the United States who have joined together to speak with one voice to promote the game and protect the right to play poker in all its forms because in 2006, in the dark of night, Congress passed legislation which seeks to keep you from playing poker over the Internet. This misguided law can be curtailed, and the PPA is working right now with Congress to establish new laws that establish licensed and regulated Internet poker in the U.S.
The PPA’s mission is to establish favorable laws that provide poker players with a secure, safe and regulated place to play. Through education and awareness the PPA will keep this game of skill, one of America’s oldest recreational activities, free from egregious government intervention and misguided laws. -
Kottonmouth Kings

Kottonmouth Kings are an American rap/rock group from the city of Placentia, California, or simply “P-Town” as the group refers to it in many of their songs. The Kottonmouth Kings officially formed in 1994, and describe themselves as “psychedelic hip-hop punk rock” but they’ve become iconic in the cannabis culture as a major stoner band with smoking marijuana the major theme in their music.
Kottonmouth Kings released their debut album, Royal Highness on Capitol Records in the summer of 1998. They began to gain mainstream success with the release of their third album, High Society in 2000, and toured with D12 and Bionic Jive in the fall of 2001. In 2006, Kottonmouth Kings headlined at the year’s Cannabis Cup and was named “Band of the Year” by High Times.
High Times sent a shout-out across the web “Should the Kings be brought back to Amsterdam? for the 2009 Cannabis Cup.
From February 24th – April 4th the Kottonmouth Kings are on the road for the “Bring tha Noize Tour” to promote the Green Album. Check out tour dates and order tickets on-line at their official website. -
Bob Marley
Bob Marley was born on this day in 1945, in the small village of Nine Mile, Jamaica as Nesta Robert Marley. His father Norval Sinclair Marley was a white Scottish Jamaican. Norval was a Royal Marine Captain, and a plantation overseer, when he married Cedella Booker, a black Jamaican then eighteen years old. Norval provided financial support for his wife and child, but seldom saw them, as he was often away on trips. In 1955, when Marley was 10 years old, his father died of a heart attack at age 60. Marley suffered racial prejudice as a youth, because of his mixed racial origins and faced questions about his own racial identity throughout his life. He once reflected:I don’t have prejudice against meself. My father was a white and my mother was black. Them call me half-caste or whatever. Me don’t dip on nobody’s side. Me don’t dip on the black man’s side nor the white man’s side. Me dip on God’s side, the one who create me and cause me to come from black and white.
Although Marley recognized his mixed ancestry, throughout his life and because of his beliefs, he self-identified as a black African. In songs such as “Black Progress,”, “African Herbsman,” “Buffalo Soldier”, “War” and others, Marley sings about the struggles of blacks and Africans against oppression from the West or “Babylon.”
Marley became friends with Neville “Bunny” Livingston (later known as Bunny Wailer), with whom he started to play music. He left school at the age of 14 to make music with Joe Higgs, a local singer and devout Rastafari. It was at a jam session with Higgs and Livingston that Marley met Peter McIntosh (later known as Peter Tosh), who had similar musical ambitions.
In 1962, Marley recorded his first two singles, “Judge Not” and “One Cup of Coffee”, with a local music producer but these songs attracted little attention. It wasn’t until the end of 1976 when Bob Marley left Jamaica once again, this time for England, where he recorded his Exodus and Kaya albums that he became famous. Exodus stayed on the British album charts for 56 consecutive weeks. It included four UK hit singles: “Exodus”, “Waiting In Vain”, “Jamming”, “One Love”. It was here that he was arrested and received a conviction for possession of a small quantity of cannabis while in London.Tagged as: Bob Marley -
Mexican Marijuana
Since the previous story was about Acapulco Gold, I felt the readers of this off-beat blog would appreciate a little follow-on story about Mexico. So as an Expat Canuck living in Brazil and having traveled the world, I’ll take any opportunity to vow my love of Mexico and state on behalf of my fellow-countrymen (and women) that Mexico rocks! and Mexican Marijuana rocks too!
After-all it was our beloved amigos to the south that introduced Mary Jane to the northern latitudes and we suspect that she crossed the border illegally even from the start but hey, who cares? She brought Tequila and Peyote too. This menage a trois has been amongst the most celebrated union in drug history. Which we toast with panache and wish for a long, happy relationship.
Seriously though, Mexico is a fabulous country that plays host and surrogate mother country to millions of Gringos, for many reasons, if only to escape the frosty winters of the far-north, or maybe to provide safe-haven for the occasional Thelma and Louise that made it across their welcoming border. In Mexico it’s always easy to find very decent, if not outright stellar, Mexican Marijuana. – Info for addiction treatment -
Acapulco Gold
Acapulco Gold is the traditional name of a legendary, potent strain of Cannabis sativa originating in Acapulco, Mexico. Like the mythical Panama Red and Thai Stick, Acapulco Gold became popular in the hippy underground during the 1960s and 1970s. Although it is increasingly rare, Acapulco Gold is still grown in more remote areas of its native range but in recent times indoor hydroponic strains have filled the demand and the much more lucrative cocaine smuggling took control of the trafficking routes from Mexico into the U.S. Making the great strain all the more elusive and obsolete.
I was just a teenager when Acapulco Gold first made it’s way into my hands in Canada and I can testify that it was a big deal, figuratively and literally. Most weed back in the ’70′s came from Mexico and back when I bought my first pound it cost $200, really brown looking, filled with seeds and compressed to the size of a small city phone book. It had a jagged edge on one side where it had been cut and ripped from a large kilo brick. It still amazes me today that 16 ounces came from that sad looking lump of ditch weed. The price of the fabulous gold pot was at least four times more but nobody cared.
It wasn’t too long after my first ditch weed score that I first got my hands on Acapulco Gold, it was something totally different, came in a plastic baggie and was loose, fresh, yellowish-gold, buds. The smell and the feel were something that from the first time you experienced, you never forgot. A popular demonstration of freshness at the time, was to take a small bud and press it in the palm of your hand then turn your hand upside down, to prove the fresh stickiness. Once anybody tried Acapulco Gold there was no going back to ditch weed. Now I dream of going in search of the original strain, like a car collector hunting out an old Corvette or Mustang. I plan to seek out Acapulco Gold and think that I’ll know when I find her, as she was my first true cannabis love.Tagged as: Acapulco Gold -
