Canada’s self-proclaimed “Prince of Pot” was escorted out of B.C. Supreme Court and into jail Monday to await extradition to the U.S., where he is to serve up to five years in prison for shipping marijuana seeds across the border. Marc Emery, 51, was indicted in 2005 along with two associates on drug and money-laundering charges stemming from a lucrative mail-order pot-seed business run out of Emery’s Vancouver book and paraphernalia shop, which also doubled as B.C.’s Marijuana Party headquarters. As Emery left the tiny courtroom, his wife Jody wept in the public gallery while a crowd of the cannabis crusader’s followers chanted: “Free Marc Emery!”

White Rhino is one of those almost mythical strains of cannabis, created by Greenhouse seeds from crossing White Widow with White Shark then making a stable feminized strain, which came second in the Cannabis Cup in the Bio category and then 10 years later placed second in the Champions Cup.
White Rhino has become very popular as a medicinal plant because of it’s high levels of naturally occurring chemical elements (CBD and CGB) which are known to naturally relieve, or reduce, many symptoms associated with various diseases and ailments that are treatable with medicinal marijuana.
Recreational smokers love the sweet taste of White Rhino but are most interested with the THC levels, which on this plant, whose genetics are Afghan, Brazilian and South Indian, weight-in close to the top of the scale. When you smoke White Rhino it’ll creep up on you to deliver a strong almost narcotic, sedative effect. Another word to the wise, is that the smell of White Rhino when you burn a reefer is pungent and strong, so don’t smoke this stuff in an enclosed area unless you don’t care about being caught and then having to share or give up your delectable stash.
As for growing? White Rhino seeds are readily available online and although I’ve never grown this strain I’m told that the plant will flower within 2 months and at 9 weeks will produce rock-hard buds and yield up to 900 grams per plant.

Another good reason to end the prohibition of marijuana is to stop the insurgency of guerrilla growers, whether they be Mexican, as so often indicted by law enforcement, or homegrown. The very idea that people are moving into the National Parks to grow weed is almost as absurd as the amount of taxpayer money being spent to combat this pesky problem, since the experts have no idea what percentage of the bush grow operations have been eradicated. Legalize marijuana and the problem ends, or be prepared for a major troop-surge.
With a month to go in the growing season, California is shattering records for pot seizures stemming from raids on illicit marijuana gardens. And authorities blame intricate Mexican drug networks that seek remote growing sites, supply and arm workers, and harvest and traffic the product.
So far this year, the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting – a California task force of nine state and federal agencies – has seized about 4 million plants, a 1.1 million increase over last year’s record haul.
“I think they’re growing more and we’re finding more,” said Michelle Gregory, special agent for the state attorney general’s Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement. “We would like to say that we find 50 percent of the grows, but honestly we don’t know how much we miss.”

The International Day of Peace occurs annually on September 21. It is dedicated to peace, or specifically the absence of war, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone. It is observed by many nations, political groups, military groups, and peoples. The first year this holiday was celebrated was 1981.
To inaugurate the day, the “Peace Bell” is rung at UN Headquarters. The bell is cast from coins donated by children from all continents, given as a gift by the Diet of Japan, and is referred to as “a reminder of the human cost of war.” The inscription on its side reads: “Long live absolute world peace.”
The peace symbol in the photo is not made from coins, but rather from buds of high grade weed, which if rolled into reefers and passed out to soldiers in combat zones would most definitely cause ceasefire (except for the matches to light-up).

Famous marijuana activist and author Jack Herer, “The Emperor of Hemp,” died Thursday morning at 11:07 Pacific time.
“Jack deserves kudos for having publicized the benefits of cannabis hemp in his classic book, The Emperor Wears No Clothes,” said Dale Gieringer of California NORML.
“He also labored long and hard on innumerable initiatives to re-legalize hemp in California,” Gieringer said.
Rest in Peace, Jack, Thank you for your incredible effort on behalf of the pro-marijuana movement.

Jack Herer, sometimes called the Emperor of Hemp, is an author and advocate for the hemp and marijuana movements. In 1970 he wrote one of the seminal books on the history of hemp and marijuana prohibition. Herer also founded and served as the director of an organization named HEMP Help End Marijuana Prohibition).

According to a source close to the family, Jack Herer, much beloved Emperor of Hemp, is dead. The marijuana hero collapsed backstage on Saturday, September 15, at “Hempstalk 2009″ in Portland, Oregon. Herer had just given a fiery speech to the crowd on the future of hemp when he suffered a heart attack and a significant loss of oxygen. Herer died today, September 18, at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland.

Say it aint so? The Dutch cabinet wants to discourage foreigners from coming to the Netherlands to buy drugs by limiting the amounts permitted to be sold and by only allowing debit card payment. Please tell me this is just for the border towns for the purpose of slowing down the trade in areas bordering Belgium and Germany and close to France and Luxembourg?
The consumption and possession of small amounts of cannabis has been decriminalised since 1976 in the Netherlands, where it is sold in about 700 licensed coffee shops. However, the mayors of Roosendaal and Bergen-op-Zoom, some 15 kilometres apart, announced that all eight coffee shops within their borders would be barred from selling cannabis as of yesterday.
The new law has forced some 25,000 marijuana-smoking tourists, mainly French and Belgian, who flood their communities every week, to take their money elsewhere, or ride the trains further into Holland to stock-up.
Some Results of the Dutch Drug Policy
In the Netherlands 9.7% of young adults (aged 15-24) consume soft drugs once a month, comparable to the level in Italy (10.9%) and Germany (9.9%) and less than in the UK (15.8%) and Spain (16.4%) but much higher than in, for example, Sweden (3%), Finland or Greece. Dutch rates of drug use are lower than U.S. rates in every category. So, amazing as it may seem, people will travel to the Netherlands to score weed, even though there’s a higher percentage of users in their own countries. However, maybe the tide is turning on the whole phenomena? And the Dam is about to burst because of the rise in criminal investigations into organized crime, which mainly involve drugs (72%). Most of these are investigations of hard drug crime (specifically cocaine and synthetic drugs). What a shame it would be, if synthetic and hard-drugs ruined the party. My hope is that the good people of Holland will, once again, let wisdom prevail.
