Germination of your favorite marijuana seed strains
Filed under Pot, SOG Marijuana GrowFeb 2Selecting the best marijuana seeds strains for your particular medical marijuana grow environment based on its geographical location while not difficult, is very important. In a Sativa vs. Indica world, to utilize feminized seeds versus not… and whether or not to deploy the new auto-flower marijuana seeds are just some of the basic decisions that need to be made when looking at all the different marijuana Seed strains you can use. (Not to mention the tough choice between: Northern Lights Seed Strains, Blueberry Marijuana Seeds, Kush Marijuana Seeds… Or what will make the best bubble Hash afterwards.)
So Where to start the Marijuana Seeds Germination Process?
In the past I’ve had great success with my marijuana seed strain selections from the Amsterdam seeds banks that I have used and are currently available on the internet. Most of the marijuana seeds that I have purchased from the seedbanks have been of the Indica variety, as most Amsterdam seeds that I have purchased are of a Indica nature they tend to be a shorter plant by nature and tend to be bushier thus making the marijuana plant a higher yield, yet shorter in stature, the trichomes on this plant when allowed to grow to full maturity are crystallized and sugary.
When properly germinated the Amsterdam Indica marijuana seeds comes to life from its dormant state. Water Ph and temperature are most critical at this point, for as soon as the cannabis seed has begun to breach its Seed husk a sufficient quantity of H2O is critical as the marijuana seedling begins to form its vital and nutrient hungry root system. The next part of this process requires a trace amount of nutrients as it breaks through its shell and begins the process of building what will be its taproot. There are as many ways to germinate as there are to grow marijuana. One of the most important steps in the germinating process is presoaking your marijuana seeds.
I have found that one of the more successful steps to the germinating process is to deploy wet paper towels on a level flat white plate. Placing the marijuana seeds on top of the moistened paper towels then putting another moistened layer of paper towels on top of the seeds, placing another plate of similar size on top of the plate, for which everything now sits — thus creating a cover.
The cover at this point is critical as the darkness and controlled environment helps to create a consistent moisture rich environment between the two plates therefore stimulating faster germination. Once you have your germination plates arranged in a way that we have described it is critical now to find just the right environment we are looking for a dark warm place somewhere right around 80°.
On a daily basis your tasks should include a sprinkle of water on the paper towels making sure that the pH balanced water thoroughly saturates the paper towels every day. One must do this until the tip of the taproot becomes visible to the naked eye. Then we take the now germinated marijuana seed making sure to put the tap root down into the growth medium regardless of the medium… Rockwool, soil, or Clay rock. One needs to make sure that the geminated marijuana seeds are at a depth of about your first knuckle on your thumb.
Now — it’s a matter of being patient… and kicking back to watch nature run its course.
