Casino Guard Flushes 1/8th of Cannabis Down Toilet: Then Fired!
Filed under Interesting Marijuana News, PokerSep 7
A security officer working at the Dunedin Casino who had previously been terminated soon after discovering a bag of marijuana of many strains and flushing the pot straight down a toilet, has been given $3 grand and 6 weeks of salary with regard to unjust termination. Etimoa Fifita, referred to as Eddie Bloomfield, had previously worked in the casino for 10 years prior to getting terminated last autumn. Fifita questioned the termination and following a conference in Dunedin a few weeks ago, the Employment Relations Authority determined in his favor. All he did was throw away some marijuana — he is not a marijuana patient that knows what cannabis is.
It discovered Dunedin Casino Ltd unjustly terminated Fifita for statements he breached business policy and colluded with a different worker to throw out the aeroponic grown marijuana. Autumn of this past year, a casino worker misplaced a dime bag of weed inside the building. It had been later on discovered and brought up to Fifita. He got the 1/8th of marijuana and talked to a security officer working during the time, whom, right after figuring out the root cause, informed Fifita to dispose of the pot. Fifita flushed the marijuana down a toilet and chucked the smelly proof marijuana baggie inside a trash container.Supervision started to be mindful of the event and questioned the three workers under consideration. The one that bought the marijuana and introduced it directly into the casino quit, as well as the security officer. Fifita stated he didn’t understand exactly what the product was, but behaved on the guidance of the security official.
He was canned last fall, as soon as casino supervision informed him he’d breached their personal confidence in addition to guidelines and efficiency specifications.Employment Relations Authority member Mike Loftus discovered Fifita’s termination was unjustified, even though he had been unsuccessful to file a substantial marijuana-related violation and compromised the confidence of his employers. Fifita wanted restoration, however that was not “remotely realistic or reasonable”, said Mr Loftus. “I concur with the casino’s perspective it could in no way have confidence in Mr Fifita again,” his written finding explained. He explained Fifita led to the problem that triggered him being dismissed and, consequently, settlement of $3 grand for loss in dignity, embarrassment and injury to emotions was sufficient.

11:11 Awakening or 4 Aces
Poker provides the perfect parables for real life, and I believe it’s an ideal game of skill to master, especially for young people, as it teaches awareness, plus cause and effect of action, not to mention the beneficial power of bluffing. I’ve never claimed to be, or set-out to become a master of poker, instead I embarked upon a quest, many years ago, to know my customers and to become the best poker room operator I could become. Admittedly, I still have a long way to go, however during my recent trip to North America I experienced a revelation, in California and Nevada, in terms of truly understanding who poker players are, what compels them to play, where, when, and (sometimes) how. The reason I was allowed access backrooms where mere mortals dare not tread, and freely given insider information about the inner workings of multi-million dollar per day operations: my association to Reefer PokerThe people I’ve met and the operations I was on the inside of were truly remarkable, some of the all-time heavy-weight champions of Vegas operations opened the doors to their backrooms, for example on one visit to Vegas I found myself VIP’d to the top of the Palms Hotel in the Playboy Casino, to discuss the nuances of dealing Black Jack, with one best managers in the business. Another time I was hanging-out with the top whale hunters in Vegas, as he shared details about the high-rollers of the Hard Rock but none of this knowledge, as fascinating as it is, compared with what I learned in California about the intricacies of running a high-stakes Poker home-game, in the legal grey-zone. Before I expand on my amazing adventures in the high-stakes home-games of California, and because today is 12.12.10 (full house with aces over deuces) I want to share more personal insight about my own personal 11:11 Awakening but I promise I’ll return to the juicy topic of the California poker home-game.
It’s so cliché to say; that I don’t believe in coincidence – or, everything happens for a reason – or how about; the people who enter our lives are there for a purpose. Sometimes though, things that happen are so obviously of profound importance that the body produces goose-bumps, or the hairs on the back of your neck and arms, stand on end. When this happens allot, all a person can do is smile, and accept that you’re in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing. I had known about the 11:11 prediction for several years, it was explained to me by some light-workers from the Island of Kauai, people I respected for their work on energy grids, meridians, spiritual locations and vortexes. Side-note: go to Sedona, Arizona, hike up to a vortex area for your own evaluation, then try to explain it? Even for my mind the explanation of 11:11 was related to the time/space continuum, an Aquarian age topic, somewhat like that defined by Robert Anton Wilson in Prometheus Rising. All very cool stuff, maybe a little too deep for my simple mind, even if I saw, and was gratified by the occasional occurrence by the digital time of 11:11.

Marijuana Mothers Day
In appreciation of all the women poker players, well actually, in appreciation of all women in general, especially those that are mothers and most especially those that are marijuana smoking mothers, Reefer Poker announced that they would be hosting a special “Mothers Day Poker Tournament”. This event is planned for Saturday May 8th at 4:20 PM (CST), intentionally scheduled for the day before the official Mother’s Day, just in case the family has plans that may be more important (ie. day at the spa or special family dinner etc…) but we certainly know how some marijuana mom’s love to play poker….
To make this tournament even more meaningful Reefer Poker decided to match 100% of the player buy-ins for this tournament and send them to the American Cancer Society to aid them in their ongoing efforts to combat breast cancer. Obviously this is a disease that touches so many people in our lives, and this weekend, with Mother’s Day, it is even higher in people’s minds.
Reefer Poker is adding $200 to the $3 tournament prize pool, and then matching the entire player buy-in total and donating that amount through Cancer.org. The “Mothers Day Poker Tournament” will be held on Saturday, May 8 at 4:20 pm Reefer Poker time, which is the equivalent of 5:20 pm Eastern Daylight Time. -

Poker Pot Odds
Pot odds are one of the most important parts related to a Texas hold’em poker game, odds are important in any poker game. Pot odds are related to the relationship of the size of the tables pot which is then compared to the size of the bet you will have to call. A good example would be, if the pot is at $40 and you would only need to call $4. In this case the odds are 10 to 1. You can relate your pot to the odds that you will improve your hand to decide of you is going to call. If your odds of improving are lower than your pot odds then you would want to call the hand. You will want to remember when playing any form of hold’em poker that there can be two different players who will not understand the idea of pot odds.
The first are player they will play very tight. They will fold even when the pot odds would make it profitable for them to call the hand. The second are poker players that will call any hand to the river even when they should know that they are beat. These second set of poker player is where the real money is at. If you can learn how to use pot odds to your advantage you will be able to profit from these kinds of players mistakes. There are more advanced concepts like implied odds and reverse implied odds that can also help you profit from weak player. You just need to remember that poker is a game of math not luck. If you learn the math behind it you will end up a winner in the end.
If you want to learn more about math behind poker odds there are many different books you could read. I would suggest starting out by reading Odds and Probabilities: Limit, No Limit, and Tournament Strategies by Mathew Hilger. This book will give you the tools need to understand everything you need to know about odds and everything about odds percentages and poker. The book has many tests and charts to help you out. Well, do your homework and you’ll be winning poker games in no time.

Reefer Poker on Merge Network
For over two years Reefer Poker have been one of the top performing poker rooms on the Merge Network and were amongst the first brands to build a poker community featuring the popular Merge poker room management system. Around 40,000 players have registered to play Merge through Reefer Poker and from the beginning the relationship has been super-symbiotic, as the two teams collaborated on the development of versions 2 through versions 4. The evolution of a brilliant poker platform has been realized, and now the stakes are about to be raised, in a major way, since the network is preparing to welcome it’s 40th poker brand, and this time the communities and player base of that brand, is larger by far than the original sum of the previous 36 brands.
Merge Network, Reefer Poker and every other brand on the system is about to experience a quantum leap forward in player activity, player registration, and an overall increase in the amount of money played, with more higher limit cash games and way more variety of cash tournaments.
The level of excitement at Reefer Poker is palpable as the group have planned some very exciting announcements as we approach 4/20. We promise to continue trying to blow people’s minds with our strategic marketing.
To date our most new players in a single month was approximately 5,000, which unto itself may be a record considering the low amount of money spent to win those players from our competitors, in a very tough market during competitive times, reeferpoker.com wins hands down in it’s word of mouth, social/guerilla marketing.
After more than 2 years building the Reefer Poker brand our community has reached a steady maturity and earned a great reputation for fairness and honesty with our partners and customers. At the end of the day it’s been a great steady stream of fun poker but the best part has been the sub-niche “reefer”, a very unique and loyal affinity group. We are the poker room for pot heads, there’s no other game online for weed smokers and the sheer number of poker playing weed smokers, just in California alone, let alone the entire web population, is staggering! It’s a huge niche inside a 100 million player market but it’s also the most well established sub-culture, super hip society (this moment), due to positive portrayals in movies, pop culture icons, athletes and celebrities who smoke weed, caused the overall sentiment surrounding reefer to shift, at a time of great legal change in the U.S. market, at a time with medical marijuana in 15 states and California voting to legalize altogether. So the reality is, for the purpose of developing a massive online community, that the cannabis culture demographic is the most ideal group on the planet.
Reefer Poker has reached a size where it is self-sustainable due to the loyalty amongst our members. We love our poker community, love playing poker with you, and love being part of the Merge Network.
Smoke the Competition!
