Teapot Party Meetup
Our new leader of the 420 Army has taken up the mantle! This is the catalyst we’ve been waiting for, the blunder of one dumb cop, has gotten the ball rolling in what will become the movement to turn the tide in the battle to legalize marijuana. Take action now! This is an insurgency (peaceful, since we’re stoners) and this is your call to duty.Willie Nelson sparked a new political effort after his arrest for marijuana, telling CelebStoner.com, “There’s a Tea Party. How about a Teapot Party?
Our motto: ‘We lean a little to the left.’ Tax it, regulate it, legalize it.“
Now it’s our chance to join together to get this Teapot Party started! We need to demand change and back candidates who want to legalize marijuana and hemp as their main issue. Get together with other Teapot supporters by joining a Meetup near you, or take action on-line by joining, and then sharing the Facebook group with your friends.

Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson occupies a unique position in cannabis culture. The marijuana law reform movement has never had a better, more long-serving ambassador for weed smoking consumers, plus he’s a dedicated proponent of hemp as an industrial crop for the American farmer. All this honest goodwill and yet he remains an outlaw in every sense of the word, beloved by the cannabis counterculture for having once smoked a reefer on the roof of the White House and adored by his fans for his marvelous talent.
There was an occasion in Texas in 1995 when Willie was arrested for possessing a couple of reefers, and in a totally unlikely scenario the local sheriff was the individual who bailed him out. Makes a person wonder if the two became life-long friends after smoking those joints because unlike most marijuana activists, since Willie Nelson doesn’t just preach to the converted, on the strength of his art and his living example, he’s helped change more minds about marijuana than any other American.
Willie Nelson is a co-chair of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) advisory board. He has worked with NORML for years for marijuana legalization and has produced commercials for NORML that have appeared on Pot TV programs. He has also recorded a number of radio commercials for the organization. In 2005, Nelson and his family hosted the first annual “Willie Nelson & NORML Benefit Golf Tournament,” which appeared on the cover of High Times magazine. A touring schedule and more information can be found on the official Willie Nelson site.Tagged as: Willie Nelson
